Taking up responsibility on your own and going forward with action can be difficult initially, and if you are cleaning your house on your own for the first time, and simply not as an errand, but a set of tasks that you are completely responsible for, it might seem to be rather daunting. Especially if you are doing the house cleaning work alone, you can feel quite overburdened with it. Following are some house cleaning methods that might come in handy, especially if you are dealing with it all alone:
- Clear out your closet, once and for all. You will be surprised to see the amount of things that have piled up over the years. Some people have a hoarding tendency to buy and accumulate almost everything that they purchase and keep them at home, but rarely use these items. Even if you are not one of them, chances are that you haven’t had a chance to reorganize your closet in months (if not years). Throw out the useless items for recycling or donating to the needy. Stack up all the similar items together at one place so that you can find them easily. You can also take out the extra towels and washcloths for your convenience and usage as and when required.
- Mix baking powder and warm water to form a cleaner that boasts of being an all purpose one, and this can be applied almost on every possible surface in the house, followed by cleaning with a washcloth and it works great for removal of any kind of marks or stains. Commercial drain cleaners can be purchased separately though for cleaning sinks in the kitchen and drains in the bathroom.
- Clean up your smelly sneakers and socks with the help of a few dollops of baking soda. Sprinkle it within and throw it out before you wear them. Your sneakers will feel fresh considerably.
- Marker stains can be removed from wood with the help of toothpaste- this is a very handy trick for parents who are constantly bothered about children ruining the furniture in the house with their antics.
- Make sure that you change your toothbrushes regularly, give your hair combs a good clean with a soap solution (few drops of soap will do fine) and wash off clean with fresh cold water till they have no dirt residue or hair strands left on them.
